Frank Azar, known as the ‘Strong Arm of Denver,’ was born on April 18, 1957, in Denver, Colorado, to a family deeply rooted in ranching. Despite his father being a lawyer, Frank spent his childhood on his grandfather’s ranch, learning the value of hard work through tasks like mending fences and branding cattle. This upbringing on The Saliba Ranch in Walsenburg, Colorado, left a lasting impact on him.
Growing up, Frank admired his father’s work as a lawyer, but his father discouraged him from entering the field due to its fast-paced changes. Interestingly, both of Frank’s siblings, William and Yvonne, followed their passion for law, with William practicing in Alaska and Yvonne practicing alongside Frank in Colorado.
Frank’s academic journey reflects his intelligence. After graduating Cum-Laude from the University of Colorado in 1979, he pursued a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of Denver in 1982. His excellence was recognized when he became a member of the honor society Phi Beta Kapa. In the same year, he was admitted to the Bar for both Colorado and Texas.
Career
After gaining experience in various law firms, Frank Azar ventured into personal injury law. In 1987, he founded ‘Franklin D. Azar & Associates,’ a law firm that still operates in Colorado. Using television commercials to establish the firm’s name, he built a brand known for its aggressiveness and dedication to clients, earning him the moniker ‘Strong Arm of Colorado.’ Notable cases include a class action against Walmart to protect employee rights and addressing defective hip implants for the elderly in 2017.
Frank Azar’s interests extend beyond the legal realm. He is an aficionado of imported cigars, enjoys watching old movies, and is an avid golfer. Annually, he embarks on an international holiday to play on renowned golf courses worldwide. Leveraging his passion for golf, he established the Azar Invitational, a charity golf tournament raising funds for students at Trinidad State Junior College to pursue higher education.
